Routine
Physical Exams:
For routine physical examinations of your pet, we allow 15 minutes for the doctor to examine the patient, answer your questions, and advise you in your pet's continued care. It is helpful if you can bring a fresh stool sample from your pet (they don't particularly enjoy it when we retrieve the sample here) so we can complete a thorough physical examination.
We may also wish to obtain a blood sample while you are here (from your pet, not
you!) and perform laboratory tests as necessary.
Surgery & Anesthesia Patients:
For surgery patients or any patients undergoing anesthesia, we ask that they arrive between 7:00 and 8:30 am. Please be prepared to spend approximately 15 minutes with the veterinary technician so we can go over the procedures your pet will receive and you can answer any questions that we might have.
We strongly recommend that you do not feed your pet after midnight the night before anesthesia, as many animals will be nauseous from the medications. We will certainly provide your pet with food and water as soon as they have recovered from the anesthesia and are able to safely eat and drink.
If at all possible, please provide us with a telephone number at which you could quickly be reached in the event of any complications or urgent questions. |
