An
Introduction to Oscar Bernard "Biff" Downey
He was born
in the year of the dragon
In China the colorful,
enigmatic Dragon is the magical messenger of heavenly bestowments.
In the lunar horoscope he represents the greatest celestial power
- embodiment of unseen, unpredictable, and unleashed power. He
is the guardian of the five happinesses: fortune, virtue, harmony,
longevity, and completeness. The person born under the influence
of the Dragon is empowered with good health and vitality. He is
enthusiastic and energetic - a bit excitable at times, being short-tempered.
An honest and capable worker, he is ambitious and quality-conscious.
He is averse to borrowing money and is somewhat worrisome. His
kindheartedness and generosity is appreciated by friends but can
be easily manipulated by not-so-friendly acquaintances. The Dragon
year person is blessed with a rich and satisfying life, and the
Year of the Dragon is forecasted as a year of abundance for all.
He has been waiting
for this Year of the Millennium Dragon. He rules the universe
now. Nothing can stop him from getting what he wants. And you
know that already. His energy is in high gear. Romance and success
will follow him. But he needs to take care of his health. Try
to rest once a while.

Dragons are born under the sign of luck. In the West the legend
of Saint George, has done much to damage our understanding of
the Dragon's personality, which is usually regarded as evil. However,
in China the Dragon is the national emblem and considered the
harbinger of the four great blessings; long life, virtue, harmony
and wealth. Created from fable the Dragon leads the famous Chinese
New Year carnival, which provides a perfect clue to the Dragons
larger than life personality.
Dragons are usually showmen, characters who are both boastful
and precocious. They are hot heads who let their hearts rule their
heads. Dragon people love to stimulate people around them. This
they do by virtue of their extraordinary self-belief; the more
they believe in themselves, the more they pass belief on to others.
Put another way, the carnival king is a mixture of cheerleader
and magician, which explains much of the Dragons influence. The
history shows that those born in the Dragon year are unusually
blessed.
An important ingredient in the Dragon make-up is their desire
for perfection. Once they set their minds on a task, they will
see it through to the bitter end, regardless of any merit involved.
As a result they are double quick to find fault with anyone who
doesn't give 101 per cent twenty-five hours a day, eight days
a week. Curiously, a Dragon is most critical of those he loves
most dearly and tends to create an embarrassing scene over the
most trivial incident. No one holds a grudge longer. It goes without
saying that Dragons make the world's worst diplomats and even
poorer gossips, always getting their facts wrong. For all their
abundant wealth of self-belief and inner certainty, the Dragon
cannot stand a routine of any kind. Should a Dragon feel imprisoned
either spiritually or physically they will almost certainly go
mad. Once in decline, a Dragon tends to become lazy, fat and bitter.
Impetuous and arrogant, Dragons are easily infatuated and chase
endlessly after lost causes. Consequently, Dragons are often found
making fools of themselves. For all their outward brashness and
apparent lack of sensitivity, the Dragon has a romantic and generous
heart.
Because the Dragon is a deeply masculine sign, women born under
its influence do not find life quite the same bowl of cherries
as their male counterparts. Relationships are more difficult for
female Dragons, it must be added, and they do not make natural
parents or nurses.
The three phases of the Dragons life will be varied, marked by
a difficult childhood. Here parents and classmates will misunderstand
the baby Dragon; a tough time in which Dragons will fall, never
to rise. In the middle phase, the Dragon is expected to make as
many friends as enemies. Fame and wealth usually come easily.
In old age, a Dragon will find a life without regret. Always ready
to lead one more carnival, Dragons are very much what we make
them.
Being true to
the Dragon, Biff is varied in his interests. Explore his world.
