Howard and Kathy Merrell, have been at CBC since June of 1973. In addition to his duties as pastor, Howard has traveled to a number of countries where he has been involved in missions work. He believes that by living out the principles of God’s

word people of all ages can make a difference in this needy world. This goal is expressed in the church’s motto. Kathy has accompanied him on several of these trips. Both Kathy and Howard are graduates of Appalachian Bible College. Howard also took work at Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania and received a Masters in Biblical Studies from Liberty University. In addition to leading CBC’s music ministry and Coffee Break, Covington Bible’s ministry to ladies, Kathy also teaches music in her own studio. The Merrells have 2 sons and six grandchildren.
