Missions is our Mission:

Covington Bible Church is involved with missions around the world, both through investment in long-term career missionaries and mission agencies, and through involvement in short-term opportunities.

A list of our missionaries, with links related to them, can be found at the bottom of this page:

News Releases:

Pink Davis ordained to Gospel Ministry:

Pink and Selena Davis are missionary appointees to New Zealand, with Biblical Ministries Worldwide.  Pink, Selena, and daughter Eliana just moved to Chicago where they are working with their home church, Crawford Bible Church, and continuing deputation.  On November 6, after being examined by a group of pastors and leaders Pink was ordained by Crawford Bible.

Among those participating in the ordination were:  Pator Billy Price of Faith Baptist in Covington VA, and Kim Jones and Howard Merrell of Covington Bible.  Several others from Covington Bible Church were in attendance at the ordination service.

Lomasney Family Assist with Building in Ecuador:

In November, Mike, Angie, Megan & Adrianna Lomasney are assisting  Doug and Dorcas Williams, missionaries to Ecuador with the construction of a house in the Rio Verde area of Northern Ecuador.  This project will allow the Williams to have closer presence with the Awa Indians of the region.

Howard & Kathy Merrell in Honduras:

The Merrells recently returned from a trip to Honduras.  In addition to visiting with Fred and Cindy Stromberg, Howard was the speaker for the BMW Field Conference in Honduras.
The Merrells thank the Lord for a safe and productive trip.

Below are the ministries in which Covington Bible Church is financially involved on a regular basis:

Missionaries Doug and Dorcas Williams (left) serve the Lord in Lita' Ecuador.  The Williams began their work in Colombia with New Tribes Mission, but because of the instability there, they were forced to leave and now minister just south, in the Northern part of Ecuador with Liebenzell Mission. In the Mountains around Lita', we are seeing the birth of a church among the Awa' Indians.

Lonnie and Ruth Hodge (right), Cochabamba Bolivia:  Lonnie teaches in a Bible Institute program to train Bolivian believers, while his wife Ruth works with children with learning disabilities.  Since returning to the field through Fellowship International Mission, the Hodges have had open doors to minister.  Not only is Lonnie training Bolivians to effectively reach their people, he is in active ministry in local churches as well.

Ralph & Louise Green (left) and Joe & Gloria Phillips (right) are our missionaries to young people.  Here in our part of Virginia, Joe, and his wife Gloria, provide leadership, training, group events, and support for Word of Life Teen Clubs.  Ralph and Louise have the same ministry, by means of email, telephone and fax, with churches throughout the Southeast United States, not near enough to an area missionary to be assisted in the usual manner.

Appalachian Bible College and Alpine Bible Camp:  Not only do we financially support these ministries, but Pastor Merrell teaches from time to time at ABC, as adjunct faculty, and a number of CBC folk take advantage of opportunities at Alpine.

Glenn Mathews, Revival Crusade Ministries continues not only to have impact here in the USA, through special meetings, but through radio and missions in places like the Ukraine, Poland, Australia and the Caribbean.

Fred and Cindy Stromberg (left) serve in Honduras with Biblical Ministries Worldwide,

Pink and Selena Davis (right) are missionary appointees to New Zealand, where they will serve the Biblical Ministries Worldwide, already involved there in church planting ministry.

Appalachian Bible College, because life is for service.

Radio Bible Class, the “Daily Bread” folk.

Covington Bible Church is committed to sharing the Good News around the world.
