DBET - Updates ( Daryl Burkholder Electrical Training Updates
)
In 1978 I began an apprenticeship with the Westvaco Corporation located in Covington, Va. After
completion in 1982, I worked as a journeyman industrial electrician until mid 1989 in which time I left to run my newly
created electrical contracting company Burkholder Electric. To this day, I still operate Burkholder Electric which primarily
handles service calls within a 20 miles radius of my home near Covington.
In 1989 I begin conducting evening House
Wiring Classes at the Jackson River Technical Center. We soon added a National Electrical Code Review course followed
by related electrical courses for HVAC & Electrical apprentices. I taught there until the mid 1990's
In
1998, I began holding National Electrical Code classes at the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College just outside Clifton
Forge, Va. Other related courses would soon include Industrial Electrical Controls and Blue Print Reading. I
am currently employed there as an adjunct .
My classes are conducted in a low stress, seminar / lecture type format. The
course is presented in a four color power point presentation in conjunction with a document camera to project the
code text and illustrated color graphics to a viewing screen. This creates an unobstructive, easy on the eyes viewing experience.
Throughout the class period, questions are encouraged and welcomed.
I look forward to hearing from all interested Tradesmen !!
I
welcome all phone calls and email inquiries.
if I don't pick up, leave a message so I can return
your call.

This is what I really look like 99% of the time. Dickies work pants and sweat shirt. I am thankful the floor is not shown
in the pic.
