Shhhh... Have I got an exclusive secret to share with you all! Guess what DOLLY has been up to lately? According to my source "Steve Gardner", of Sugar Hill Records Radio Promotion, DOLLY has just finished recording an entire album titled, "The Grass is Blue". It is an entire album full of traditional Blue Grass Music, as well as some DOLLY originals!

The album was recorded during the week of August 2, 1999. Harmony vocals are being added this week. According to "Steve", the project is set to be completed shortly. Just in time for the expected release date of October 26, 1999. It will appear on Sugar Hill Records with an imprint of
DOLLY's own label, "Blue Eye Records!"

Here is an excerpt of my letter from "Steve" of Sugar Hill.

""Smilin' Jimmy Mills (banjo player for Ricky Skaggs) called in and said that the whole sessions has been fabulous. Straight-ahead bluegrass with a great band (and vocalist of course!) They ordered catering, but ditched it all when DOLLY showed up at the session with some home cooked chicken and dumplings! Let's just say that everyone was "in the mood" for some good bluegrass music.""

I am truly excited about yet another new DOLLY project. How about you?! "Steve" aslo gave me a listing of the players and vocalists.
They are as follows...

The band is:
Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, Bryan Sutton, Jim Milles,
Barry Bales & Steve Buckingham.

The Harmony Vocals are:
Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Alan O'Bryant, Keith Little, Claire Lynch,
Rhonda Vincent & Darrin Vincent.

The Song List is:
(not sequenced, and this can still change a bit, but pretty firm overall):
'A Few Old Memories' (Hazel Dickens), 'Travelin' Prayer' (Billy Joel), 'Cash on the Barrelhead' (Louvins), 'Silver Dagger' (PD), 'I Still Miss Someone' (J. Cash/R. Cash), 'I'm Gonna Sleep With One Eye Open' (F&S), 'I Wonder Where You Are Tonight' (J. Bond), 'Train, Train' (Shorty Medlocke) 'The Grass is Blue' (D. Parton), 'Steady as the Rain' (D. Parton), 'Endless Stream of Tears' (D. Parton) 'Will He Be Waiting For Me' (D. Parton),
& 'I Am Ready' (D. Parton) - a capella gospel!

""As Jim Mills would say, "I'm tickled to death.""

E-Mail the guys and girls at SUGAR HILL MUSIC and let them know how much we appreicate them giving our DOLLY another chance at success!
