Located in the heart of the Allegheny mountains, near the headwaters of Laurel Fork stream, at an elevation of 3,700 feet, the Allegheny House offers spectacular views and a great escape from the ordinary. Situated near the West Virginia and Virginia state line, there are many opportunities for sightseeing, skiing, hunting, hiking and simply relaxing on the sunporch watching the sun rise. Open year round, you can plan a visit in either the summer, when no air conditioning is needed, or in the fall when you can be surrounded by a spectacular display of color.
A short distance away there are so many attractions that you will find it hard to fit everything into just one week. Within less than one hour's drive some of the attractions in West Virginia include: Just minutes away is the town of Monterey where you can enjoy antique shopping or a relaxing dinner at one of the many restaurants in town. Some interests in Highland County you won't want to miss are the seasonal festivals including the Maple Festival, Highland County Fair, McDowell Battlefield and the many miles of hiking and scenic drives located throughout the county. Since the Allegheny House is open year round, many hunting opportunities are available in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest as well as bird watching and star gazing.
The Allegheny House comes fully furnished and can accommodate six people.
$120 per night for double occupancy, plus $15 for each additional guest. Minimum of two-night stay. Call for weekly rates.
