Schola Cantorum of Waynesboro - Singing Music of the Masters

Scholarship for Voice Lessons

Schola Cantorum of  Waynesboro has a proud tradition of choral excellence in the Shenandoah Valley.  In addition to presenting concerts, a part of our mission is to ensure that future generations of singers continue that choral tradition.

Schola Cantorum awards an annual scholarship to a high school senior showing vocal promise and intending to pursue music in college.  The scholarship will assist with the cost of private voice lessons in college.

Each applicant must submit a completed application; a copy of the applicant's high school transcript; and a letter of recommendation from a person (not a family member) who is familiar with the applicant's vocal skills and ability.

The top two or three applicants will be asked to perform a musical selection for the selection committee.  The applicant should bring his or her own accompanist.  The maximum amount of $500 (to be paid directly to the institution or instructor) can go to one winner or be divided between two at the discretion of the selection committee.

If you are interested in obtaining an application, please send e-mail to:

with your name, address, telephone number, and the name of the high school you attend.
